Vijay has got an opportunity with Ravi Babu directorial film Nuvvila in 2011 in a small role. Later, he appeared in Life is Beautiful in a small role directed by Sekhar Kammula. These two films didn’t give him due recognition. Mahanati film director Nag Ashwin casted him in Yevade Subramanyam film in a supporting role along with Nani. This film became a success commercially and Vijay has received accolades over his performance in this film, role he played, action, in this film.
He got his first breakthrough through the film Pelli Choopulu as lead role directed by Tharun Bhaskar. This film got successful and won Best Feature Film in Telugu and Filmfare Award for Best film in Telugu. Then he acted in Arjun Reddy a bold and radical movie.
